Hydro Vacuum Excavation

Hydro Vacuum Excavation

Non-destructive digging that exposes live services safely, faster than any mechanical alternative.

Overview

About the service

Non-destructive digging (NDD) uses a high-pressure water lance paired with a powerful vacuum to expose underground assets and cut precise trenches. Spoil is captured directly into an onboard debris tank, keeping the site clean and disposal simple.

Because water pressure is fully adjustable, our operators can work confidently around fibre, gas, water and high-voltage assets — meeting asset-owner requirements without the risk of a strike.

Why SSA

What sets our hydro vacuum excavation apart

SSA operates one of the most capable hydro-excavation fleets in the country. Our combination jet/vac units pair oversized debris tanks and boom-mounted suction with tuned water systems, so trenches that would take a day by hand are opened in an hour — safely, and without damaging what's already there.

The environmental case is just as strong. Efficient extraction means less spoil, less reinstatement and lower disposal costs, with excess material taken directly to approved transfer stations from the unit tank.
